The QE2 paid a brief visit on Monday 30th August to drop off passengers from a mini cruise and pick up fresh passengers. The ship was moored in the middle of the river opposite the Royal Liver Building and passengers were off-loaded from one side and boarded on the other by a shuttle of Mersey Ferries. I was on the Royal Daffodil which spent the afternoon and evening ferrying a relentless stream of spectators on a triangular rout round the ship.
